Nicole Montclair-Donaghy

Nicole Montclair-Donaghy (Kampeska Cinkila Win) is a Hunkpapa Lakota from the Standing Rock Sioux Nation; she is also a descendant of the Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara Nations, and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. Nicole was raised in Fort Yates, North Dakota located on the north side of the Standing Rock Reservation.
Nicole is a long-time community organizer, storyteller, and advocate for Native American issues. In 2014, she joined the Dakota Resource Council as a field organizer where she led DRC’s oil and gas campaigns and was one of the first organizers working against the Dakota Access Pipeline and its arrival to North Dakota. She also leads campaigns against radioactive oilfield waste, Federal flaring and methane policies, oil bomb trains, and other oil and gas issues in western North Dakota. Nicole helped found Fort Berthold Protectors of Water and Earth Rights (POWER) to organize the first North Dakota study on the harmful effects of Bakken saltwater brine spills in partnership with Duke University. She also assisted in air quality studies and the harmful effects of 24/7 flaring of natural gas.
Nicole is now the Executive Director of North Dakota Native Vote and works on issues that affect the lives of citizens living on and off reservations.
